1 year in prison/ Meta confesses: Inquisitorial process inspired by Rama, darker

The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has recounted his days in prison, as October 21st marked one year since his arrest.

In an interview on "Syri TV", Meta stated that the decision against him was inspired by statements by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Meta accused that darker intentions were hidden behind his stay in prison.

"My criminal kidnapping was preceded by a general intimidation campaign from July 2023 until October 21, 2024, when the well-planned criminal kidnapping took place, which had much darker purposes than simply arresting me.

Everything was aimed at my leaving the country, because that way I would incriminate myself and all the lies invested against me for 25 years would become true.

Likewise, the Freedom Party, which has been a great stressor for many internal and external malignant factors.

But their calculations did not work out as they and the SPAK group, as it was rightly christened the Freedom Party, believed.

"Unable to justify all their deceptions and conjectures inspired by Edi Rama in the file where there is no evidence or criminal fact against me and by further escalating the violation of my rights in detention, they intend to move towards an inquisitorial process that has no connection with due process, let alone the European Convention on Human Rights," Meta said./CNA
