The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, addressed a letter to DASH official James Rubin asking him for help in setting up the parliamentary disinformation commission.

Nikola informs him that the Conference of Presidents approved today the Parliament's decision to set up such a Commission and passed it for approval in the plenary session.

The Speaker of the Parliament has invited the senior DASH official to visit the Parliament of Albania and give his assessment and experience.

 "Dear Mr. Rubin.

I am writing to you about the recent initiative initiated by a group of MPs to create a Special Commission to combat foreign influence, including disinformation. The Conference of Presidents approved today the Parliament's decision to set up such a Commission and passed it for approval in the plenary session.

Since Albania lacks the proper framework to address such impacts, I would like to not only extend an invitation to you to visit the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, but the committee would greatly benefit from your experience and knowledge of valid against these forces.

Furthermore, I would like to ask you to address the Assembly about the importance of joint efforts to combat foreign malign influences. Your word would help raise awareness and encourage cooperation on this important issue.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to your response", writes Nikola in the letter addressed to the Special Envoy and Coordinator for the Center for Global Engagement of the Department of State./ CNA
