The elected mayor of the Municipality of Himara, Fredi Beleri, has appealed against the decision of GJKKO and requests the annulment of the decision and to be declared innocent.

It is reported that the file was submitted on Friday by the GJKKO to the Special Appeal and is expected to be drawn in order to assign a panel of judges.

At the beginning of March, GJKKO sentenced Beleri to two years in prison for buying votes in the election of May 14 last year. 

His accomplice, Pandeli Kokaveshi, was sentenced to 1.6 years in prison, which can be converted to 3 years of probation./ CNA
