Orthodox Easter/ CNA TV broadcasts the movie "Passion of Christ"

On the Great Sunday of Easter, CNA TV will broadcast to all viewers the film "The Passion of the Christ", directed by Mel Gibson.

The Passion of the Christ is a 2004 American epic biblical drama film produced, directed and co-written by Mel Gibson. Jim Caviezel stars as Jesus of Nazareth, Maia Morgenstern as Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Monica Bellucci as Mary Magdalene. It describes the Passion of Jesus mainly according to the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. This film is also based on devotional stories such as Good Friday.

The film mainly covers the last 12 hours before the death of Jesus Christ, known as the "Passion". It begins with the Agony in the Garden of Olives, continues with the betrayal of Judas, the brutal scourging at the stake, the suffering of Mary as prophesied by Simeon, the crucifixion and death of Jesus, and ends with a brief account of his resurrection. The narrative intersperses moments from Jesus' life, such as the Last Supper and the Sermon on the Mount, and moments from Jesus' early life.

The film will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m.
