Former Democratic Party MP, Zheni Gjergji, has been appointed Director of Elbasan Hospital.

Through a post on social media, Gjergji himself shared the news about the new assignment.

Gjergji adds that this was not an easy political choice, but a deeply professional and human decision.

"Dear friends,

Dear citizens of Elbasan,

Today I have accepted with responsibility and humility the position as Director of the "Dr. Xhaferr Kongoli" Elbasan Regional Hospital.

This was not an easy political choice, but a deeply professional and human decision.

Despite my previous political engagement, I have been and remain a doctor.

My profession is a calling, not a position. I have chosen to be where I can give more to people's health, to my community, to the city I love.

Elbasan is my city, the place where I grew up and where I built my professional identity. Being at the head of the most important health institution of this city is an honor for me, but above all a challenge that requires dedication, knowledge and honesty.

Healthcare needs people who know the system, who feel the burden of responsibility, and who are willing to work with dedication, beyond political beliefs and frameworks.
