Mitri was charged with the criminal offenses of "premeditated murder", pending and "carrying weapons without a permit".

The authorities announced that the cause of this incident was a collision that Mitri Prifti had with Edison Begajn in the area of ??Lungomare in Vlora.

We recall that the priest was a witness in the trial of Emiljano Shullazi in 2017.

The witness, originally from Kuçova, was questioned in court in the capacity of the first cousin of Jani Zaka, the businessman to whom a quantity of explosive material was placed in his garage at "21 Djetori".

In the courtroom, Mitri said that his cousin, businessman Jani Zaka, had told him that there had been property problems with the Sinani family. This statement of the witness was opposed by the Prosecution.

The prosecution body said that Mitri Prifti had claimed in January 2016, when he was questioned by the Judicial Police officer, that he had talked with his cousin, Jani Zaka, and he had told him that he had also received threats from Emiljano Shullazi. /CNA
