Inflow of tourists to the country, 1.7 million arrivals during July

The Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, has made public the data of tourist inflows for the period January-July 2023, which are over 5.1 million visitors, exceeding by 31% those of the same period of 2022, i which is known as the best year ever in the balance of figures.

"Just for July, 1.7 million foreign visitors have chosen to visit Albania, or 26% more compared to a year ago" , says Minister Kumbaro.

In addition to visitors from Kosovo, who hold the first place in the same figures as last year, during these months interesting markets are presented: Spain with more than twice the number of visitors compared to last year, Turkey with 142% more, but it is also noted increase in the number of visitors from Montenegro by 62% more, France by 58% more and Italy by 53% more compared to last year. A rebound in visitors from Ukraine is reported, with 153% more arrivals compared to 2022 and 152% more visitors from China, thanks to the visa waiver cooperation agreement between the two countries and mutual promotion.

During the year 2023, Albania as a tourist destination has been on the pages of the most read newspapers and many of the most watched television productions in the world as a country with great potential to be discovered.

In a recent interview for the Italian "La Repubblica", Minister Kumbaro said that all the commitment of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the Albanian Government, the creation of the necessary infrastructure and the organization of events throughout the year have been the best ambassadors for tourism promotion. of Albania./ CNA
