The Democratic Party has reacted after the sensational appointment of Taulant Balla to the position of Minister of the Interior.

"Yesterday, Edi Rama made a change at the top of the government by demoting Rahman Rraja as a deputy and a few hours later he promoted him as Minister of the Interior. Taulant Balla is just a "presta nome" for the Rraj gang and for all gangs in Albania from Elbsan to Shkodër.

Replacing the "Chuchi of the family" with the family member of the gangs is a sign of the total degeneration of Rama's power and blindness to the security drama that the country is going through.

The Democratic Party considers this appointment as part of the pact made by Rama and Balla with the criminal gangs for the May 14 elections: You give us the result, we share power with you.

How will Taulant Balla trace or arrest the deadly gangs of Elbasan, when he results in the intelligence services of allied countries as their close collaborator?

How will Taulant Balla increase public trust in the Police and security forces, which has fallen to the ground during these years, when he participated, together with Ardi Veliu, in the manipulation of the evidence for the murder of Elbasan in the 2021 election campaign?

Taulant Balla has been tasked to do what Bledi Çuçi could not do, when embarrassing events happen for the government, he covers them as he did in Elbasan.

For the Democratic Party, the name and surname do not matter: it can be Taulant Yaris, Taulant Gurra, Taulant Rraja or Taulant Balla. Each of them is Edi Rama's masha to keep alive the ties of power and crime. Because, without these threads, Edi Rama can never, ever, win the elections with open and equal competition!
