"Structure leaders did not have their names on the list"/ Candidate

Harito Zoto, the candidate for chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania in Korça, spoke about the tensions and the suspension of voting.

Zoto stated that all Democrats should be included in the process of electing the mayor, while adding that the leaders of the structure did not have their names on the list.

He stressed that they will not accept the process of resuming by removing DP members.

"The first moment was on the part of the Democrats. There were two cases from the Drenovo municipality that were about to vote. The problem is that we cannot exclude any Democrat from voting, their name was not on the list and we cannot accept that those who are mayors and are part of the DP remain without voting. They were leaders of structures and their name was not on the list. I also spoke with the other candidate and got his agreement that this problem was about names that were missing from the list. Without having an accurate list, without having all the Democrats, all those who should be included, no one has the right to exclude anyone. I think that at another moment, maybe the lists will be more accurate, let's work on those lists, let's all be included, let's not leave anyone out. Why did we hold these elections? We held these elections to include all the Democrats. No one has the right to remove anyone from the list. 

There were people who voted before. Being part of the DP and having followed all the processes for at least the last 13 years, I am clear about how this part of the voting was done. We have members, secretaries, and chairmen of the DP who are not on the list. This is a process that will be managed again or could have been well managed before. During the last 24 hours, no cleaning of the list has been done, it is not a one-day process. It is a process that takes years. The list cannot be corrected within today. We will not accept that the process restarts today by removing the members of the DP. At this point , it can be done, "said Zoto. /CNA
