Suspension of voting for the leader of the DP Korça/Kaso: The process

The political leader of the Korça district, Ivi Kaso, has announced that the voting process for the election of the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania (DP) has currently been suspended.

Kaso said that the cause was several people who attempted to vote, despite not appearing on the membership lists.

The MP stated that the process is intact, adding that if it resumes, only people whose names are on the list will vote. 

"There was no clash, there was a blockage of the process that is currently suspended because people who are not on the membership lists tried to vote. These are confirmed lists that were voted on in the last process for mayor in Korça, and the latter did not present a membership document as required by the regulations. The two conditions for voting are either to find the name on the list, or to present an identification document that proves membership in the DP. In the absence of these, they do not receive the consensus of the commission to vote. The commission is guided by the instructions that apply to all of Albania, as was voted in all branches, voting will also be held in Korça. Pending the calming of the situation and the clarification of the people who came to vote, the process has been suspended and I hope it will start soon. If the process starts, it should start with those rules. The process is intact until now, those who voted, voted according to the voter list and when the process starts again, Only people whose names are on the list will vote. Be sure that when the process begins, it will begin intact, both from the aspect of the integrity of the vote and from the aspect of the process. Our goal is to clarify all parties, to be clear about the candidates and members of the commission, so that the process is inviolable and credible. In order for the process to begin, all members of the race, the two candidates, the members of the commission, must give trust to the process, to be clear about the rules of the game. There is no perfect electoral process, it is important that the process does not lack the trust and integrity of a fair process.
