A video scandal from Durrës prison, where prisoners for serious criminal offenses are held, was published this evening.

Journalist Flamur Vezaj has published on the "Ma Shqip" channel footage from inside the prison cells, where some of the most well-known names in the criminal world are held, such as Lul Berisha, Fehmi Mziu, Islam Kasa, Astrit Avdylaj, and people close to Kel Arap.

The images of these characters partying in their cells with alcohol, drugs, and music clearly show the failure of security and discipline in prisons.

Where security is supposed to be at even higher levels, due to these criminal elements, it is the latter who apparently make the law, and have turned the prison into "their property."

As we pointed out above, these names are convicted of serious criminal offenses. Astrit Avdyli, the leader of the Shijak criminal group, is accused of murder, prostitution, drug trafficking and several other criminal offenses. Lul Berisha, the former leader of the Durrës gang, is accused of several murders that occurred years ago. Fehmi Mziu is accused of prostitution and criminal organization.

Journalist Artan Hoxha on the podcast "Ma Shqip" described the video as a clear indicator of how the prison system works, emphasizing that whoever has money, secures conditions and privileges even inside the cell. According to him, everything has a price: phones are brought in for a fee, alcohol is provided for lek, while 'goods' enter through illegal routes and often at higher prices than outside. /CNA
