Changes to the statute in the Democratic Party/ Work calendar approved

The Working Group for Amendments to the Statute of the Democratic Party has approved the working methodology and the calendar for drafting the amendments.

At today's meeting, it was decided that the process of changes will extend throughout the month of May and will include several phases, starting from the collection of proposals to final approval in the National Assembly.

Work schedule of the group for amendments to the Statute:

- May 1 - May 10, 2026 - Each member of the Party, Presidency, National Council, Parliamentary Group, National Assembly may submit proposals for changes/improvements to the Statute. Each member of the Working Group must also submit written opinions/proposals for changes or additions to the Statute.

- May 11 - May 14, 2026 - Review of all proposals submitted within the above deadline.

- May 15 - May 20, 2026 - Drafting of amendments and final proposal of the working group on possible amendments to the DP Statute. Submission of amendments to the Chairman and Secretary General of the Party for further statutory procedures.

- Within May 25, 2026 - review and approval by the Chairman/National Council and proposal for approval to the DP National Assembly.

- May 30, 2026 - Review and approval by the DP National Assembly.

NOTE: Until the moment of review and approval of the proposal by the Presidency/National Council of the Democratic Party, the proposals, work and product of the Working Group for amendments to the Statute are confidential and its meetings are closed. / CNA
