Searches in Durrës prison/ What was seized

Searches were conducted at Durrës prison where, according to information, three "iPhone" type mobile phones, turned on and functional, were seized.

The check took place in the early hours of the morning, with the participation of the Special Forces of the General Directorate of Prisons.

During the operation, a search was conducted inside and outside the institution.

One of the cell phones belonged to the detainee with the initials BG.

"Following information provided by the operational structures of the Durrës Penitentiary Institution and after risk analysis, the General Directorate of Prisons undertook a surprise control action in this institution.

The check took place in the early hours of the morning, in accordance with Order No. 626, dated 07.04.2026, with the participation of the DPB Special Forces.

During the operation, a search was conducted inside and outside the institution.

Control results:

Three "iPhone" type cell phones, turned on and functional, were seized.

One of them was found in the possession of the detainee with the initials BG.

Two others, along with a pair of Bluetooth headphones, were found without their owners on the institution's premises.

Immediate actions:

-Detainee BG was isolated

-The incident report was drawn up.

-A record was kept of the seizure of prohibited items.

The materials were referred to the ICS Specialist for further investigative action.

This action is another proof of the determination to crack down on any attempt to violate security in penitentiary institutions.
