SENTENCES for the incinerator of Elbasan / Prison for the former minister and

The Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime gave this Thursday the verdicts for the people involved in the Elbasan incinerator affair.

They are accused of abuse of office, corruption, money laundering and violation of equality in tenders.

The "brains" of the incinerators, Mirel Mërtiri and Klodian Zoto, have been sentenced to 10 years in prison, but due to the shortened trial, they will serve 6 years and 8 months in prison.

Stela Gugallja was sentenced to 7 years, but from the shortened trial she will serve 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment.

 The former Minister of the Environment, Lefter Koka, was sentenced to 8.6 years in prison, but from the shortened trial he will only serve 5.8 years in prison.

On the other hand, the former secretary of the former Minister of Environment was declared innocent.
