The Special Court has given the decisions on the affair in the incinerator of Elbasan.

It is learned that the former Minister of the Environment, Lefter Koka, has been sentenced to 5.8 years in prison after he was accused of "misuse of office".

We remind you that the Special Prosecutor's Office demanded 10 years in prison for the former Minister of the Environment.

Lefter Koka was arrested in December of last year on charges of several criminal offenses related to the investigation of the procedure on the concession contract for the construction of the urban waste treatment and energy production plant in Elbasan District.

Koka is accused of embezzling around 5 million euros from the incinerators in Elbasan and Fier.

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana has announced earlier that it is accused that Koka has committed the criminal offenses "passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", as well as "cleaning the proceeds of the criminal offense or activity criminal", carried out in cooperation./ CNA
