The former Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, has spoken with harsh criticism towards the Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, and the head of the State Police, Ilir Proda.

Invited to Erla Mëhilli's show, Bushati said that it is worrying that we have a new director in the State Police who has not set any objectives regarding what he will do at the head of an important institution such as the Police of State.

He also emphasizes that the Minister of the Interior must take courage and publicly name the criminal groups operating in Albania.

On the other hand, Bushati underlined that the State Police should show how far the investigations into organized criminal groups in Albania have gone and not deal with the 5 street junkies.

"I am concerned about the fact that we have a new director of the State Police. Is it normal not to have some objectives for the public to know? His predecessor in a statement to the media said that we are very close to clarifying one of the events that has shocked the public opinion, which is the fate of Vis Martinaj, who no one knows what his fate is. Now we have a new police director. It is chosen according to the procedures that may have been determined by the law and so on.

Is it normal that in a country with pronounced problems of organized crime that the director of the police should at least have as his objective the attack on structured criminal groups operating in Albania.

The Minister of the Interior should have the courage to publicly say by name who are the criminal groups that are wanted by the State Police.

I don't make the psychologist say who is afraid, I say that we should have measurable objectives.

So, in the field of organized crime, we need to know what the investigations of the State Police are for structured criminal groups in Albania, where they have spread their tentacles in construction, in casinos, in betting, in tourism, I don't know where.

This is what international reports say. Then the State Police has a duty in my judgment to be proactive in this direction, not to deal with the 5 street drugs, not to work for the statistics.
