Today, the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha celebrates his 80th birthday. On this special day for the leader of the opposition, his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, conveyed his congratulations.

Malltezi called Berisha a living legend and a hero of democracy.

Living legend, walking encyclopedia, hero of democracy and statesman with the most positive balance for Albania. He deserves everyone's gratitude not only for his great role in 1990 that he spoke and wrote when others did not dare, that encouraged democratic processes, opened Albania to the West, created the free market, enabled Albania to join NATO, free movement in Europe and other roles irreplaceable for the independence of Kosovo.

Fate brought him even at this age to teach us that:

1. Rights are acquired and not given.

2. The fight for democracy never ends.

3. Dignity is fought at all costs

4. Opposition is a value and it did not allow opposition to be extinguished, but it restored pluralism by confronting it

5. When you fight for the right, every fight is worth it

6. School of democracy by reducing tensions and working together with the democrats with whom it seemed impossible

7. When you have the truth with you, you face every challenge and every obstacle.
