"Disinformation against ONM unacceptable"/ Gonzato meeting at KPA

The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, visited the Special Appeals Chamber today.

Gonzato met with the head of the KPA, Sokol Çomo, and emphasis was placed on finalizing all vetting activities before June 2026.

Through a post on social media, the EU presence writes that the European Union stands firmly in support of the vetting process and the International Monitoring Operation (IMO).

 

“ The vetting process remains the backbone of the justice reform and its completion is a fundamental step in Albania’s EU accession process. During the visit to the Special Appeals Chamber, EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato met with President Sokol Çomo and stressed the importance of finalizing all vetting activities before June 2026, when the constitutional mandate ends.

"The European Union stands firmly in support of the vetting process and the International Monitoring Operation (IMO). The recent unjustified attacks and disinformation against the IOM and its international monitors are unacceptable and aim to undermine trust in the justice system and justice reform ," the EU embassy wrote./ CNA
