Did not meet the criteria/ KPA finally dismisses Korça judge

The Special Appeals Chamber finally dismissed Judge Besnik Shehu from office.

The KPA upheld the decision taken by the Independent Qualification Commission.

Judge Shehu did not meet 2 criteria, cleanliness of character and professionalism.

"The panel of the Special Appeals Chamber, composed of Ina Rama as presiding judge, Mimoza Tasi as rapporteur, Natasha Mulaj, Rezarta Schuetz, Sokol Çomo as members, announced the decision on case no. 24/2023, dated 05.06.2023, which concerns the appeal of the re-evaluation subject Besnik Shehu against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, no. 641, dated 06.04.2023.

At the end of the trial in the deliberation room, the panel, based on Article 66, point 1, letter "a" of Law No. 84/2016, "On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania", unanimously decided: Upholding decision No. 641, dated 06.04.2023 of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the subject of the re-evaluation Besnik Shehu.

This decision is final and has immediate effect.
