A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Tropoja after 655 grams of cannabis was found in his apartment. The young man, with the initials SM, is suspected of trafficking the narcotic substance into Kosovo.

Meanwhile, his mother was also prosecuted for attempting to hide the narcotics. The narcotics were seized as material evidence.

The police operation codenamed "Dragobia" is being finalized, to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics.

The 25-year-old was arrested for possessing 655 grams of suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa in his apartment, which he was suspected of trafficking to Kosovo.

The 25-year-old's mother is being prosecuted after she attempted to hide the narcotics.

The narcotic substance is seized.

The Tropoja Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Kukës DVP, in continuation of the work to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, with the support of information obtained operationally, has organized under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office and finalized the police operation codenamed "Dragobia".

During the operation, the Police services conducted a search of the apartment of citizen SM, in the village of Dragobi, where they found 655 grams of suspected narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa, which this citizen is suspected of possessing with the intention of trafficking in Kosovo. The narcotic substance was seized as material evidence.

Following the procedural actions in the case, citizen SM, 25 years old, resident of the village of Dragobi, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses of "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Trafficking in narcotics".

Also, proceedings were initiated against citizen AM, 45 years old (mother of the 25-year-old), for the criminal offense of "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth", as she is suspected of attempting to hide narcotics at the moment when the Police services went to search the apartment.

Investigations are ongoing to document this criminal activity and identify other citizens who may be involved.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Kukës, for further action. /CNA
