The lawyer of the former minister, Ilir Beqaj, said in a statement to the media that all the people who are under investigation for the "Sterilization" file have refused to pay the fee of 90 million lek to familiarize themselves with the documents of the file.

"10 million only per person to be informed where the accusation lies. We and all the other accused refused to pay this bill. We were given 24 hours to review the 700 bundles of the file. So far we are on issue number two. After reading the decision on the communication of the charge, we asked for a copy of the acts, as the law recognizes our right. 10 million ALL for PDF materials only. It is ridiculous to ask a pensioner like Petro Mersini to pay that much money. Rapaj and Rjepaj are in prison and laptops are not even allowed there. The irony is that with the same prosecutor, with the same judge, other cases have not paid off. We will stay as long as SPAK allows us. I went out to drink a coffee and I will come back inside", he said. 

Former minister Ilir Beqaj appeared this morning at SPAK. Beqaj is familiarizing himself with the acts of the Sterilization file, where he is expected to spend the whole day at SPAK. /CNA
