President Bajram Begaj is on a state visit to Croatia, where he was received in a ceremony by his counterpart, Zoran Milanovic.

In a joint conference with Milanovic, Begaj emphasized that relations between Croatia and Albania are at their best and that Croatian investments in our country are welcome.

Furthermore, Begaj emphasized that the moment has come to have a direct airline between the two countries or a connection between the ports.

"Allow me at this conference to thank my host and friend, the president of Croatia, for the warm welcome. This is my second visit as president abroad, after that of Kosovo. The focus was on strengthening cooperation, the European integration agenda as well as regional developments. Albanian-Croatian relations are at their best thanks to the excellent historical relations between the two countries. They are based on the foreign policy priorities of the two countries. In these three decades, we have created a capital that is quite good for economic, diplomatic and political cooperation. We shared the conviction that despite the excellent level of bilateral relations and trade relations, there is still much to be done in economic cooperation between the two countries. I estimated that we should do more in this direction. Croatian investments are welcome, especially in the field of tourism and energy, but also in other fields, such as infrastructure, agriculture. For a better connection between the two countries directly affected by tourism, the time has come to have a direct airline between the two countries, or a connection between the ports of both countries", he said./CNA.al
