Figures/ Over 400,000 Albanians have left the country in one month, 19.2% more

The arrivals of Albanian and foreign citizens in the Albanian territory, in the month of March 2023, are 846,645. This indicator results in an increase of 33.8%, compared to March 2022. The exits of Albanian citizens and foreigners from the territory of Albania, during the month of March 2023, are 842,428, marking an increase of 22.3%, compared to the same period of the previous year.

Entry of citizens

In March 2023, the number of Albanian citizens who entered the Albanian territory is 462,617. This number has increased by 29.6%, compared to March 2022. The number of foreign citizens who have entered the Albanian territory is 384,028. This number has increased by 39.2%, compared to March 2022. During the first quarter of 2023, the number of foreign citizens who entered the Albanian territory is 1,070,564. This number has increased by 59.5%, compared to the same period of 2022.

Exits of citizens

The exits of Albanian citizens from the territory of Albania, during the month of March 2023, are 462,483. Compared to March 2022, this indicator has increased by 19.2%. The exits of foreign citizens from the territory of Albania during the month of March 2023 are 379,945. Compared to March 2022, this indicator has increased by 26.2%. The number of Albanian citizens who left the territory of Albania during the first quarter of 2023 is 1,394,250, increasing by 32.3%, compared to the same period a year ago.

In March 2023, the region with the highest number of foreign nationals entering Albania is the European region with 369,935 citizens, followed by America and East Asia/Pacific, respectively with 8,952 and 2,183 citizens.

In March 2023, compared to March 2022, the arrivals of foreign citizens have increased:

for personal purposes with 39.9%;

for vacation purposes, visiting relatives, etc. with 38.9%;

for business and professional purposes with 20.4%
