Balluku inspects the works at the construction site of the Tirana-Durres

The number two of the government, Belinda Balluku together with the head of the municipality Erion Veliaj have inspected the works at the construction site of the Tirana-Durres railway, from where work is being done at a fast pace.

Balluku said that the Tirana-Durres railway is supported by the EU as an important package of efficient transport both for the citizens' pockets and for the environment.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that there are 39 kilometers of railway to be built, which costs about 70 million euros, a fund which consists of two blocks where 50% are EU grants and 50% are soft loans from the Bank with only 1% interest.

She underlined that the most important thing is that it will be a 100% electric train.

" We are located at one of the most important stations of the Tirana-Durra railway.

This has been our big dream, we have always talked about the modal point which would integrate all types of transport that Tirana would once have.

Today we are reaching this day.

The Tirana-Durrës railway is supported by the EU as an important package of efficient transport both for the citizens' pockets and for the environment.

So this railway was the beginning of an important package that we will have as EU support for Albania that continues with the 8th Corridor with one of the projects that we have in progress which is from Vora to Han i Hoti.

It must be said that we have 39 kilometers of railway to build, which costs about 70 million euros with a fund that consists of two blocks, 50% are EU grants and 50% are soft loans from the Bank with only 1% interest.
