The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, has revealed the figures of travelers who have passed through the Rinas airport throughout the year 2022.

Balluku said that 5.2 million passengers have passed through Rinas, while for 2023 it is predicted that more than 6.5 million passengers will pass through.

"We have achieved that only at Rinas airport last year we had 5.2 million passengers and the figures we predicted for this year were 6.5, but I assure you that we will expect more 6.5 million passengers during 2023 at this airport , which is now completely reformed to accommodate around 10 million passengers. I was informing the prime minister that today we are working with the figures that were predicted for 2027. So, we are 4 weeks ahead of what was planned to be elaborated", she said.

Meanwhile, at Kukes airport, the deputy prime minister declared that 40 thousand passengers have passed and it is expected that this figure will increase again.

"We must not forget that Kukes airport also processes 40 thousand passengers and we expect that in 2023 this number will increase, thus increasing the interest of low cost companies that already operate in Albania to also use Kukes airport". Balluku emphasized./ CNA.al
