Dako, in "prison arrest"/ Lawyer Ismaili: No evidence was presented by

GJKKO set the security measure "prison arrest" for the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, while his lawyer Petrit Ismaili has opposed this decision.

In a statement to the media, Ismaili said that he has asked the Special Court to change the security measure for the former mayor of Durrës.

According to him, the prosecutor of the case did not present any evidence to justify the measure given to the former mayor of Durrës.

Ismaili emphasized that the former mayor of Durrës cannot bear responsibility for the organic structure.

"In our opinion, the decision is disproportionate to the time of execution. Dako is being investigated for a historical criminal fact. It has been 10-12 years since the criminal offense was alleged, if we refer to the provisions for these types of security measures, an urgent procedural action is required to take this measure. The criminal offense is over 10-12 years old. The prosecutor did not show any evidence for this narrow action and no evidence to justify the conditions and criteria of the security measure.

Our request is to change the security measure. Dako exercises his activity as mayor through collegial bodies as well as through approved organic structures. Each structure has defined tasks and the chairman cannot be held responsible for the organic structure under him.

Even during the trial, especially for the second offense, it became clear that it was a slip of the prosecution. He admitted the slip and we will prove that the criminal offense does not exist", underlined the lawyer./ CNA.al
