Arrest of Visit Poja collaborator/ SPAK provides details in official reaction

The Special Prosecution Office has issued an official response regarding the arrest by the National Bureau of Investigation of Adi Çoba, as part of Operation "Bridge".

According to SPAK's announcement, at the time of his arrest, Çobo was in possession of an automatic pistol with two magazines as well as four forged documents, including an Italian identity card and license.

These elements indicate frequent movement as well as a connection to Italy. At the end of the operation, the suspect was escorted to the Durrës detention facility, awaiting extradition procedures.

SPAK reports that the operation to arrest him was carried out within the framework of a joint investigative team with the Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari.

SPAK and DIA of Bari arrest in Durrës the most wanted person of Operation "Ura"

The National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) in cooperation with the DIA Operational Center in Bari arrested on July 2 in Shkozet, Durrës, the Albanian citizen A.Ç, who was declared internationally wanted.

Citizen A.Ç was wanted as part of the international operation "URA", carried out between Albanian, Italian and Belgian authorities on May 21, 2025.

At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of an automatic pistol with two magazines as well as four forged documents, including an Italian identity card and license.

These elements indicate frequent movement as well as a connection to Italy. At the end of the operation, the suspect was escorted to the Durrës detention facility, awaiting extradition procedures.

The operation to arrest him was carried out within the framework of a joint investigative team between SPAK and the Anti-Mafia Directorate of Bari.

On May 21, 2025, SPAK and the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate of Bari, with the support of Interpol, the Office of the Security Expert at the Italian Embassy in Tirana and the State Police, executed 52 arrest warrants (two issued by the Special Court of First Instance) against persons accused of international trafficking of large quantities of narcotics, laundering of the proceeds of crime and other related crimes. 

The seizure of real estate and movable assets in Albania and Italy, worth several million euros, was also carried out.

After confirming that several Albanian citizens had managed to escape Operation "URA", SPAK and Italian authorities extended the investigations to Durrës and several cities in the north and south of Italy, making it possible to locate him.

The citizen arrested in Shkozet, the main center of the Troplini-Doçi criminal group, which operated between Puglia, Albania and the Netherlands, was located in his neighborhood.

SPAK emphasizes that the procedures are still in the preliminary investigation phase. /CNA
