The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has announced that the number of people arrested for arson and the criminal offense of property destruction has reached 23.
Balla emphasizes that the State Police is continuing its work with the documentation of the damages caused and has warned that it will personally deal with these criminal cases and legal procedures.
Among other things, it underlines that this crime is punishable by 15 years in prison according to the Criminal Code.
" Fires in the country - With the person arrested last night in Levan, the number of those arrested for the criminal offense of destroying property through fire reaches 23. The State Police is continuing the work to document the environmental damage caused, private and public property and endangering the lives of residents. I will personally pursue all these criminal cases in the judicial proceedings for the punishment of a barbaric crime like this, which in the Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania is punishable by up to 15 years in prison", said Balla./ CNA
