Alcohol during the holidays/ Ministry appeal: Be careful, risk of acute

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has issued an appeal on alcohol consumption during the holidays.

Through a statement, the Head of the Toxicology Service, Dr. Andrin Tahiri, has called for increased caution, due to the risk of acute poisoning that excessive alcohol consumption can bring.

"The holidays are approaching, the balance sheets are made after the holidays are over and we look at what the trend has been and what the medical assistance we have provided has been, but the experience of the past years normally leaves us on our toes.

The staff is ready, prepared, in collaboration with the multi-purpose emergency staff. We provide medical assistance to everyone who needs it.

According to our protocols, during this period we are dealing with acute poisoning. That is, with excessive alcohol consumption, to the point where it can cause damage to health. They need medical assistance from the white shirts.

"Wrong choices can have consequences for a very long time. Alcohol and drugs never make you more interesting. Clear decisions do. Celebrate hard, enjoy hard, without harming yourself. Whoever knows how to love themselves, knows how to make the right choice," said Tahiri./CNA
