The "5D" affair, the message for Veliaj on the streets of the capital

"5D" is probably the biggest corruption affair after the incinerators.

Some of the most important directors and closest associates of the mayor Erion Veliaj were involved in this corrupt scheme.

The amount that was benefited by the directors of Veliaj through tenders exceeds the figure of 30 million euros according to calculations.

Mariglen Qato, Redi Molla, Taulant Tusha and other officials of the Municipality of Tirana are behind bars while others are under investigation after the scandals that have come to light which were revealed and in the investigation file which CNA has reported for weeks and days after new strands of corruption are discovered every day.

This theft has caused anger among the citizens, who have been protesting in front of the City Hall for three weeks and are demanding the removal and resignation of Erion Veliaj, as well as his confrontation with justice.

On Friday at 11:00, the next protest will be held, launched by the Alliance for the Defense of the Theater, supported by the opposition and citizens.

Another move to control the anger towards Veliaj are the messages written on different streets of the capital.

CNA brings a photo where it can be seen that in one of the alleys of the capital it is written: "Erion Veliaj, go to your friends".

This is a very clear message for Veliaj, which shows that the citizens no longer want him to continue to be the head of the Municipality of Tirana.

We remind you that the investigations continue. Erion Veliaj was called twice to SPAK. More arrests are expected and other officials are under investigation.
