Real Madrid sign Inter defender, undergo medical

Denzel Dumfries is very close to a move to Real Madrid, with the parties having reached an agreement for a four-year contract.

The Dutch defender has also undergone medical examinations in the Netherlands in secret, which explains his absence from the Netherlands' friendly match against Algeria.

Real Madrid have officially notified Inter of their intention to activate the player's release clause. The clause foresees the payment of 20 million euros in a single installment.

Dumfries himself has preferred not to comment on the transfer, stating that he is only focused on his commitments with the Dutch national team at the World Cup. Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has also confirmed that Dumfries has undergone medical examinations.

Now, between the player and the transfer to the "Santiago Bernabeu" only the formalization of the process after the Real Madrid presidential elections remains.
