Players at the World Cup, English teams dominate

The 2026 World Cup will feature 1,248 footballers, with English teams representing more than any other country with 200 players.

Following England are Germany with 109 players, France and Spain with 86 each, while Italy has 71. The Saudi Arabian League is positioned immediately behind the elite European championships with 49 players gathered in the tournament.

Some national teams such as Cape Verde, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Curaçao, Senegal and Uruguay have not called up any players from their domestic leagues.

At club level, Manchester City is the most represented team with 19 players spread across 12 national teams.

Bayern Munich have 18 players, while Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have 16 each. Barcelona have 15 players and Al Hilal have 12.

The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
