New coach and director, Milan prepares for reconstruction

Milan are working on rebuilding their squad for next season. Gerry Cardinale and Zlatan Ibrahimovic appear to have identified Ralf Rangnick as their main target for the management of the entire sports department.

The German, currently coach of the Austrian national team, is considering Milan's offer, while there is also a proposal on the table to continue with the Austrian federation after the World Cup.

His decision is expected to be made within days, as both sides need clarity about next season. In the event of an agreement, Rangnick will also have a key role in choosing the new coach.

The most favored name for the red and black bench is Oliver Glasner, who in recent years has won the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League with Crystal Palace.

Other alternatives remain Matthias Jaissle of Al Ahli and Mauricio Pochettino, currently coach of the United States national team.

Milan aims to close these issues as soon as possible to start planning the transfer market and the new season.
