The student versus the teacher! The special between Scaloni and De La Fuente in the final

Spain and Argentina will face off in the World Cup final after eliminating France and England respectively in the semi-finals.

The Spanish won 2-0 against France, while Argentina defeated England 2-1. The final pits the current European champions against the reigning World and South American champions.

Beyond the sporting rivalry, the challenge also brings an interesting history between the two coaches. Luis de la Fuente was one of Lionel Scaloni's teachers during the coaching course at the Spanish Federation academy in 2017.

De la Fuente has stated that he will be happy to face Argentina because of the respect he has for Scaloni. The Argentine coach has also praised the role of the Spanish technician in the beginning of his career as a coach.
