Mohamed Salah surprises everyone with his new team, he wears black and white

Turkish club Besiktas have reached an agreement with Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, beating off competition from Saudi Arabia and the United States.

After a long nine-year career with Liverpool, the 34-year-old has accepted the Istanbul team's offer for a one-year contract.

The financial agreement provides for a salary of 10 million euros per season, plus another 2 million euros in bonuses, with the option to renew for another year.

The transfer marks the club's second major move from the Premier League, following the signing of Leandro Trossard from Arsenal a few days ago. The leaders are strengthening their attacking line-up with the aim of successfully qualifying for the Europa League.

Under the guidance of Italian coach Vincenzo Italiano, Besiktas are looking to forget last season's fourth-place finish. Part of this ambitious project are well-known names such as Wilfred Ndidi and goalkeeper Alexander Nubel.
