The Albanian women's team started the 2027 World Cup qualifying campaign in the best possible way, triumphing 1-2 away against Montenegro and securing three very important points.

Both goals for the national team led by Armir Grima were scored by captain Megi Doçi, in a match that produced not only three goals, but also numerous emotions throughout the 90 minutes.

The best opportunity for our team came in the 17th minute with Fortesa Berisha, who entered the area from the right and shot, but the ball was intercepted by the opposing goalkeeper. In the following minutes they also had several good chances to take the lead with Berisha, Krasniqi and Doçi, but they failed to finish. The first half ended with a score of 0-0.

The second half started with a dangerous moment from the Montenegrin team, but we were lucky. In the 51st minute, our team was close to the lead. Krasniqi crosses into the area, finds Doçi, who heads the ball, but the goalkeeper saves it again.

A few minutes later, our girls miss another good chance with Franje. After a beautiful combination, Krasniqi heads the ball to Franje, who shoots over the crossbar.

The team does not stop in search of a goal and in the 64th minute creates another golden opportunity for the lead. Krasniqi passes to Fortesa, but the ball is stopped by the goalkeeper. The ball remains in the area and Doçi tries immediately, but the Montenegrin goalkeeper proves decisive by punching and saving the result.

In our best moment, the home team took the lead with a goal scored in the 67th minute by captain Kuc.

Our team's equalizer comes very quickly, after three minutes, thanks to a goal by captain Doçi. Krasniqi sends the ball beautifully into the area, where Megi Doçi is in the right place and scores for 1-1.

In the 76th minute, Albania's advantage goal comes. Once again, Megi Doçi is the protagonist, scoring a Eurogoal from a penalty kick, sealing the score 1-2 for Albania.

The Albanian women's team will play the second match of the World Cup qualifiers against the Czech Republic on March 7, at 18:00 at the "Loro Boriçi" stadium.
