Mango and papaya, two of the most beloved tropical fruits, stand out not only for their intense flavor and color, but also for their impressive nutritional value.
But if you had to choose just one - which is best for your body? Research and experts provide the answers!
According to experts, mango is particularly rich in soluble fiber. This fiber forms a natural gel in the intestines, helping to eliminate cholesterol and improve digestion.
Papaya, on the other hand, also contains soluble fiber and antioxidants, as well as beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A. A study published in the Journal of Nutrition confirms that soluble fiber is associated with a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and improved glycemic control.
Papaya is one of the richest sources of vitamin C.
Papaya: 88 mg, that is, over 100% of the vitamin C we need every day.
Mango: 60 mg, almost 70% of what we need every day.
Vitamin C strengthens the immune system, acts as an antioxidant and helps with iron absorption.

Mango: Rich in beta-carotene (1,060 mcg/cup), which promotes eye and skin health.
Papaya: Contains lycopene, a powerful antioxidant with anticancer properties and cardioprotective effects.
Both fruits contain potassium, which helps with heart health. Papaya, however, contains twice as much magnesium as mango, contributing to better muscle function and sleep quality.
