Internationalization of medical faculties/Kraja: The benefits have begun, 6

“Strengthening digital capacities in biomedical education through internationalization” is a project that focuses on promoting academic mobility in biomedical fields. The project, which also includes medical branches at the University of Shkodra, is also being implemented by partner universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Students participating in this project were certified this Friday.

"We have gathered to finalize the trainings that have been carried out for our students by European universities. It is about increasing digital capacities in biomedical sciences, where the University of Shkodra has 4 programs. With this project, the university is getting ready to use all digital opportunities and the University of Shkodra has real capacities, not only for Albanian students, but also for foreign students. 25 students have been trained in the three courses, who will be certified, but more importantly, the future is a good opportunity for the University of Shkodra to also offer online digital trainings to foreign students. Six classrooms at our university have been equipped with smart-boards. This is about internationalization and this is thanks to this project," said the head of the department of preclinical subjects, Julian Kraja.

"Internationalization is very important, as it is part of this project beyond the other aspects it includes. The project is about strengthening digital capacities. The advantage is that both the transfer of knowledge, but also the advice we receive in the implementation of this project come from serious partners, such as European universities. The modules that I have been informed about are important and are a trend of our time and discussing medicine or medical management in times of crisis because the pandemic showed us such a thing is something important. I think they are a great advantage for our university and for students. When we talk about internationalization, we also talk about digitalization and it also coincides with the 2030 strategic document. This case with you students should also serve as an example for high school graduates who have not yet made up their minds to choose the University of Shkodra for these good opportunities it offers", said Rector Tonin Gjuraj.

The internationalization of medical branches aims to unify diplomas with neighboring countries. While the benefits have begun, the Faculty of Nursing in Shkodra has been equipped with 6 smart boards. /CNA
