Korça, the center of Balkan folklore/ "Spirit of the Balkans" festival kicks off with artists from 5 countries

Korça has returned to the center of Balkan folklore these days, with the organization of the eighth edition of the international festival "Spirit of the Balkans".

For two nights in a row, the southeastern city welcomes artistic groups from Albania and other countries in the region, who are bringing songs, dances, and folk traditions to the public.

The festive atmosphere has taken over the main streets and pedestrian areas of the city, where the parade of folk ensembles has attracted the attention of hundreds of citizens and visitors.

With colorful traditional costumes and authentic performances, participating groups from Albania, Greece, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia presented a special spectacle, promoting the culture and heritage of their countries.

Five competing folklore groups, representing five Balkan countries, participate in the festival, while the artistic program is also enriched by three invited musical groups.

"Spirit of the Balkans" will continue on Saturday evening with the final night where the five folklore groups will take the stage again to be evaluated by a professional jury, thus closing another edition that promotes friendship, culture and cooperation between the countries of the region. /CNA
