Murder of the officer in Maliq/ Lamallari reacts: I condemn the serious act,

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari expressed his deep loss for the officer killed this Thursday in Maliq, by a wanted man by the police.

As Lamallari expressed through a post on social networks, today a family lost its loved one, the State Police lost a colleague, Albania lost a dedicated servant of the law.

I condemn in the strongest possible terms this serious criminal act in Maliq, an attack not only on State Police employees, but on order, law and the security of citizens themselves. The perpetrator will face the full force of the law and will have no chance of escaping justice.

Condolences to the Mekolli family, colleagues and relatives of Enea, who sacrificed his life in fulfilling his noble mission. His sacrifice will be remembered with respect and gratitude. I wish the injured officer, Edison Adri, a speedy recovery and a speedy return to his family and colleagues.

"The State Police will continue with determination its mission in protecting the law and the security of citizens. Enea Mekolli's sacrifice does not stop us, but strengthens us in the battle against crime. The greatest honor for him is to continue his duty with the same courage, dedication and integrity that he showed until the end", Lamallari writes./CNA
