We have gathered here today not only to share memories and love for our country, not only to honor your achievements in the world, but also to face a reality that weighs on all of us: our beloved Albania is being emptied day by day.

Today we have schools that no longer have the voices of the children that once filled the classrooms and streets of the city. Albania remains more and more lonely. I also want to share with you the numbers.

Statistics show that on average over 50 thousand people emigrate from Albania every year. That is, every year a city leaves. This has made Albania even smaller, but also older.

When a young person leaves, not only a citizen loses a hope for the future. Schools are emptying, the economy is weakening. Families are being torn apart, and the spirit of our community is being torn apart. But I believe we can change this situation.
