The MPs voted this Tuesday evening in the Assembly for the 2025 draft budget.
The budget was approved in principle only by majority vote, as the opposition voted against it.
Specifically, 75 votes were given for the budget, 40 against, while there were no abstentions.
With the approval of the budget, the marathon session, which lasted two days, was closed.
The government has emphasized that this budget is the largest ever, and will be used mainly for the continuation of reforms and the financing of currently open construction sites.
The state's 'portfolio' for 2025 is 8.2 billion euros. No salary increases are foreseen and there is no predetermined fund for pension increases during 2025.
As for investments, the budget is dedicated more to projects that are under construction, such as the Tirana-Durrës Road, Elbasan-Qafë Thane, or Ndroq Plepa. The concessions that are active will be financed and the public debt will be borne./ CNA
