President Bajram Begaj starts on Wednesday the consultations with the political parties in accordance with the decree on the date of the parliamentary elections.

Begaj will host the head of PR, PBDNJ, PDIU, LZHK in a meeting, while on Thursday he will host representatives from PL.

The President will hold consultations with the two main parties, SP and PD, on November 25.

Earlier it was reported that the parliamentary elections could be held between the first two Sundays of May, May 4 or 11. However, these are mere assumptions, since determining the date of the elections is the competence of the President of the Republic, who, after consultations with the main political actors in the country, also decrees the date of the elections.

From previous practices, the date of the elections is set with the agreement of the parties, where the President consults on two possible dates, which are presented to the representatives of the political parties.

In public statements, the Democratic Party has not expressed any preferred date for when the elections can be held, while its leader, Sali Berisha, has stated that the elections should be held as soon as possible./ CNA
