12 hours of debates in the Assembly/marathon session continues tomorrow

This Monday, a marathon session was held in the Assembly for the draft budget of 2025, while the discussions between the parties lasted over 12 hours. The Assembly will resume again on Tuesday, starting at 10.00.

Next year's budget is expected to be 8 billion Euros, while the opposition has accused the government that the funds are being wasted.

This Monday's session started with debates between the opposition and the majority, after Prime Minister Edi Rama announced a new plan for pensioners. Rama said that the fund of 100 million euros will be allocated for the bonus that 511 thousand pensioners will receive at the end of the year, while it will be followed by another financial measure in the spring.

The opposition will also express its opposition to the draft budget through a protest, which is expected to take place on Tuesday, starting at 5:00 p.m. In the event that the budget will be approved on Tuesday morning, the chief democrat Sali Berisha also announced a shift in the protest schedule.

Berisha also asked to approve an amendment requested by the opposition for the establishment of the vital minimum of 200 euros./ CNA
