The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has called on the police officers to increase vigilance during the holiday period, in order to prevent criminal events and not to damage the festive atmosphere.

In a post on social networks, Balla says that the 'Rule of Law' is hitting every day the phenomenon of carrying weapons without a permit. 

"The 'Rule of Law' is striking every day against illegal gun ownership, a phenomenon that remains a bad example in the eyes of the public, a gross disregard for the law and open arrogance towards our society. Possession of weapons without a permit is a potential source of serious crimes against the person. The State Police has arrested 14 people and seized 14 firearms and a significant amount of military ammunition in Mirdita, Vlorë, Tirana, Durrës, Berat, Kurbin and Shijak. I congratulate the Mirdita Police for the reorganization, the serious investigation of the previous serious events and the increase of the preventive force, as proved today by the prevention of another serious criminal event. The State Police must increase vigilance during the holidays, cooperate with the citizens, in order to prevent criminal events and prevent the festive atmosphere from being affected by episodes of illegal actions," said Balla. / CNA
