The Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament, Taulant Balla, received the Minister of Public Administration of Montenegro, Marash Dukaj, in a meeting today.

The two ministers discussed important topics for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries, with a special attention to the digitalization agenda, the development of bilateral relations and the rights of Albanians in Montenegro.


Minister Dukaj is in Tirana as a participant of the regional conference "Shaping the Future of GovTech" for the combination of technology and governance in the service of citizens.

During the bilateral meeting, the two ministers agreed to give priority to the digitalization agenda for the modernization of public services, as a key step towards more efficient and transparent governance.

As an important point of the meeting, the further involvement of Albanians in decision-making processes and political and cultural life in Montenegro was discussed, also emphasizing the importance of protecting and expanding their rights.

Minister Balla appreciated the role of the Albanian community in the governing system of Montenegro, as well as the need for the intensification of cross-border cooperation.

"Marash Dukaj was a student in Tirana a few years ago and today he is the Minister for Public Administration in Montenegro. He is a precious friend and does not hide his patriotic pride for the great changes of Tirana and Albania during the last decade. The Albanians of Montenegro are an important factor in anchoring Montenegro towards membership in the European Union," said Minister Balla.

Also, it was discussed about strengthening bilateral relations, with the aim of increasing cooperation in areas such as public administration and promoting regional development through joint projects.
According to the minister, this meeting proves the common commitment to build stable relations and to contribute to the development of our region. /CNA
