The American Embassy in Tirana has given details of the meeting of the American diplomat Yuri Kim, with the head of the parliamentary group of the SP, Taulant Balla and the deputy Enkelejd Alibeaj.

Kim emphasizes that during the meeting he underlined the importance of the cooperation of all political parties, to increase the transparency and accountability of all institutions, to reject attempts to undermine Albania's democracy.

The reaction of the American Embassy

Ambassador Yuri Kim met today with the Chairmen of the Parliamentary Groups Taulant Balla (SP) and Enkelejd Alibeaj (PD) to discuss a wide range of issues on the agenda of the Parliament and the US-Albania bilateral relations. Ambassador Kim underlined the importance of the cooperation of all political parties, to increase the transparency and accountability of all institutions, to reject attempts to undermine Albania's democracy, to improve the supervisory role of the Parliament and to move Albania forward with determination towards fulfilling the requirements for full membership in the European Union. She also emphasized that now is the time to increase efforts to implement the justice reform, which the Parliament passed unanimously in 2016 and which is starting to show results./ CNA.al
