The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, has confirmed the candidacy of Erion Veliaj for a third term at the head of the Municipality of Tirana.
Gjiknuri said on the show "Now" with Erla Mëhilli that he is a very serious SP candidate for the upcoming local elections in Tirana.
He stated that Veliaj has done a lot of work and has a wealth of achievements that make him a favorite.
"Erion Veliaj is the acting mayor, he has done a lot of work, but when he stays in office for a long time there are criticisms and attacks, this is normal in politics. Erion Veliaj is a very serious candidate of the SP and comes with a baggage of achievements that make him the favorite candidate to win over the opponent", said the secretary of the SP./ BA - CNA.al
