Former Socialist Party Finance Minister Arben Malaj said today that the May 11 elections will not be easy for the Socialist Party and Edi Rama.

In a television interview, Malaj commented on the political situation in the country and the challenges that the Socialist Party and Prime Minister Edi Rama will face in the May 11 elections.

Malaj said that SPAK has put Rama in a difficult position.

"SPAK has put Rama in a difficult position. The problem is not whether he will win or not, but what he will produce. It hurts my soul when I see him spending a lot of money on his Eden garden. Rama feels the public perception. Rama has excessive satisfaction as if everything comes from him.

"I am not for fixed ideas, which sideline the old ones. These will not be easy elections. The SP has the potential because it has the administration, it has the municipalities. Generally, rotations happen when the ruling party splits. No matter what happens, I believe the SP has allies. As for our journey as a country, the EU is our only destination," Malaj said./CNA
