"I don't know why I've been an MP for as long as I've had

Prime Minister Edi Rama, at a meeting of the Socialist Party Group organized at the Presidency of the Assembly, revealed details on the method of selecting SP candidates for deputies.

Rama said that the deputies will compete on the open list because in principle, the fight should be done by those with more experience. Rama said that there will also be many young people on the open list.

The Prime Minister said that MPs who do not want to be on the open list should notify in advance, implying that if they do not want to be on the open list, they should not run.

"Anyone who does not want to run on the open list should let the leaders know.

Any male MP who has received even one mandate will not be on the closed list.

But he should have said it earlier. The war will be fought primarily by those who have more experience.

"There will be many young men and women on the open list," Rama said.

He also gave a message to political leaders, stating that leaders should not violate the compactness between candidates and should not have preferences for them.

"Political leaders would be focused on getting votes for themselves. Political leaders should ensure that all candidates have equal space. No political leader should get involved in preferences about who citizens should vote for.

Rama said that he has not yet made a decision on whether he will be on the candidacy lists.

"In my case, I don't really have a clue why I should be an MP for as long as I have this position.

I haven't made a decision for myself yet whether or not I will be on that list.

"Men compete with men, women compete with women," the prime minister said./ CNA
